Does anyone know who does the cover of Bowie's "Heroes" that's played at the end of the movie The Replacements? It's not on the soundtrack, and all my net searches for it have come up blank. Can anyone help me out? I'm pretty sure that they did a cover of "Heros" Excellent! My husband and I were talking about that cover last week and then found that the Replacements was going to be on las night, so we Tivo'd it;. assuming we'd find out that way. Well, they played it, but didn't ever show a song credit. Grrr... Now I can sleep again! ;-) I must find a copy of the Wallflowers' version. I love Bowie's, but it's always fun to hear other people do old stuff. Dee suggested The Wallflowers, but I just got this from another online friend: > http://www.dvdangle.com/reviews/review.php?Id=1240 > > At the bottom of the article it says: > > 'It would have been nice for the filmmakers to include "Heroes" by > David > Bowie on the soundtrack instead of Font 48's remake for this movie.' > ^^^^^^^ So now we know. I still, though, think I have heard about the Wallflowers doing it as well. Hmm...the plot thickens... I hope you're all enjoying some fabbo spring weather (or fall, for those down under!) At least there's discussion on the list! It's been really quiet lately. I re-subscribed a few months ago and have just been lurking. They also played Sugar but it seems Hungry has been cut from the set list more or less permanently. Anyway I Get Up will probably be a single if not the first single off the next INXS album whenever that's due (likely this year). I Get Up was probably the first song that Jon Stevens has contributed to in songwriting terms as well (not counting the add on intro to Time) although I wasn't sure. Certainly though it leaves something to be anticipated in the coming months. I just finished reading "Just a Man" by Patricia and Tina. I really enjoyed it! It was a quick read. And it was nice to get a family perspective on the man. I can't say I agreed with all of their opinions. They were a little judgemental on some topics. For example, their opinions of Helena Christiansen were a little strong. I myself, thought she was good for Michael. Not to speak ill of the dead, but much better than Paula was. Not that they thought much of her either. They also were a bit self-righteous on some subjects. They weren't too keen on Kell. I do think there are two sides to every story. So I didn't take everything as gospel truth. Their book did give some insights into the private man. And it was mainly written in a light and enjoyable way. Hope you enjoyed my review of "Just a Man". I had to check a few different spots before finding it on the Amazon site. Evidently, it is out of print. So book stores are out.
